ISLAM UNDER TERRORIST ATTACK (The Massacre of Setif, 1945)

ISLAM UNDER TERRORIST ATTACK (The Massacre of Setif):

Algeria, May of 1945, Muslim villages were bombed by French aircraft and the cruiser Duguay-Trouin standing off the coast, in the Gulf of Bougie, shelled Kerrata. Pied noir vigilantes lynched prisoners taken from local gaols or randomly shot Muslims. The victims were 6000 unarmed Muslim villagers including men, women, children, and old citizens.

  1. There was actually a massacre in Setif but I doubt your photo is true since the man on the left doesn't even have a French uniform and the one on the right does not seem to be dressed like the French settlers in Algeria did. Are you sure this picture is not from Eastern Europe (Balkans or Romania)? You shouldn't post a picture if not sure. The repression in Algeria was not especially against islam but rather the refusal of the national Algerian fact growing. Some even argued that it was the repression against a Nazi plot, which it never was. The religious issue was absolutely not concerned even if people believed faith helped them. The issue was both social and nationalist.
